A few stars proved that they’re going to be tough competitors to beat during this season of DWTS 2014, while others slipped up during their routines and found themselves in the bottom last week. Tonight, the theme is, “My Jam Monday.” The stars will be choosing their favorite songs to dance to with their pro partners. The opening number features jam picks from the DWTS judges.
Now, it’s time to jump right into the dances.
Randy Couture & Karina Smirnoff – Cha Cha to “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”
Judges: Len said it was a lot of fun, but his footwork wasn’t too great. He said he comes out and gives it everything, and overall it was well-done. Julianne said it was a great way to start off the night but that he needs to relax his shoulders. Bruno said they could have a new hip action hero, and his energy and enthusiasm are in the right place but he just needs to tighten up the edges. Carrie Ann said she’s actually a little disappointed because it was underwhelming and not aggressive enough (earning her some booos from the crowd).
Scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7 = 28/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3410

Judges: Julianne said that while it wasn’t a traditional foxtrot, she loved it. She said she just needs to be more conscious about planting her feet on the ground. Bruno said you can call me anytime you want (haha). He said that she does need more strength with her footwork, but for him, it was almost perfect. Carrie Ann said she’s impressed with her versatility and that she agrees with Bruno that it was close to perfect. Len said he thought it was lovely and that she can really dance.

Carrie Ann said the ladies are killing it tonight and it was so exciting and she killed every step. Len said he was concerned about the jive, but it was terrific. Julianne said she gave her chills more than once during the dance and that there’s something so feisty about her, and she held her own.

Vote: 1-800-868-3407
Michael Waltrip & Emma Slater – Samba to “Girls in Bikinis”
Judges: Carrie Ann said the world needs more of what he’s got because he’s so lighthearted, which she thinks is wonderful, but she didn’t see much of a samba. Len said he puts the sin in syncopation, and he doesn’t know why, but he did like it. Julianne said he had the hip rolls down, but the in-between moments still need work. Bruno said with the girls around him it’s difficult to keep the concentration.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 6, Len – 6, Julianne – 6, Bruno – 6 = 24/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3409
Tavis Smiley & Sharna Burgess – Cha Cha to “Boogie Wonderland”
Judges: Len said he knows he’s had a tough week and unfortunately it showed because it lacked a bit of polish. He liked the concept and the feel of the dance, but it needed more touch up and better footwork. Julianne said it definitely felt like it was his jam, and he performed very well. Bruno said he likes the vibe and he sold it, but he needs to be lighter on his feet. Carrie Ann said he performed well and that he got all the stops, and she was impressed.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7 = 28/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3412
Alfonso Ribeiro & Witney Carson – Samba to “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It”
Judges: Julianne said he’s great and has the groove, but she’s looking forward to seeing him do something with more bounce and and Latin and ballroom groove. Bruno said his personal style and charisma is unique and extraordnary, and his performance is astonishing. Carrie Ann said they lost connection a little bit in the middle, but it was a solid perfromance. Len said he was popping like buttons on a tight shirt, and he said he’s excited to see him do something new.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 8, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8 = 32/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3401
Bethany Mota & Derek Hough – Foxtrot to “All About That Bass”
Judges: Bruno said that it really tickled his fancy. He loved the little details, but it takes a bit of doing, which she did very well overall. Carrie Ann said she loves that she’s telling a story and that it was a wonderful routine. Len said that it was a great number, the best he’s seen tonight. Julianne said it was her jam and it was awesome.

Vote: 1-800-868-3403
Betsey Johnson & Tony Dovolani – Foxtrot to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”
Judges: Carrie said she’s exquisite and she danced beautifully and that it was such a transformation. Len said last week was a night to forget, while tonight is a night to remember. It was a lovely routine with lovely dancing and she looked fabulous. Julianne said instead of it being a makeover, it was a makeunder in that it was simple, elegant and timeless. Bruno said she’s the queen of the night and she’s definitely ready for her close-up.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7 = 28/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3404
Antonio Sabato Jr. & Cheryl Burke – Rumba to “Adorn”
Judges: Len said to just come out and enjoy the experience, and the secret is just to be better than the previous week, which is what he did tonight. Julianne said there something so natural about it, and it wasn’t melodramatic when it could have been, so she was impressed. She also said the connection between the two of them was beautiful. Bruno said the Latin lover is starting to smolder. He said it meant something and that he’s got a nice butt and he should use it more (haha). Carrie Ann said subtlety was the right approach, but he needs to watch his arms.

Vote: 1-800-868-3402
Tommy Chong & Peta Murgatroyd – Salsa to “Higher”
Judges: Julianne said the only way she can describe that dance is with a bunch of F words: It was fun, fast, funny, the footwork was fabulous, and basically, it was f’ing fabulous and fearless (haha). Bruno said he’s proving that age is a state of mind and he’s young as he feels. Carrie Ann said he rocked it, and he’s smooth and danced right in the pocket of the music. Len said he was overdosed on fun with plenty of wiggle and giggle.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, Julianne – 7, Bruno – 7 = 28/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3413
Jonathan Bennett & Allison Holker – Cha Cha to “Sing”
Judges: Bruno said he did it very well and he liked the sharp angles, but there were some elements that he was rushing. Carrie Ann said she loved seeing this side of him and that he brought out a dangerous character, but it wasn’t enough cha cha. Len said this was jerky and very little content, not enough cha cha cha. Julianne said they’re very consistent as far as ability level, and they have a lot of potential to grow throughout the season.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 7, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8 = 30/40
Vote: 1-800-868-3406
Sadie Robertson & Mark Ballas – Jazz to “She’s Country”
Judges: Carrie Ann said it was a little edgy and sexy, and she killed it. Len said he loves that she took it back to her roots, but jazz and country didn’t quite gel for him. Julianne said you can’t take your eyes off of her when she’s on the floor, and she’s a natural performer who gives it and hits it hard. She said she has amazing technique and her leg action is gorgeous. Bruno said it was great.
Scores: Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 7, Julianne – 8, Bruno – 8 = 31/40
